This is how I remember the little town of Prairie being in the late 60's.

I thought the first time I saw it that someone needed to sell Hollywood on using it for some westerns. Still think that would be a great idea, from I remember see in March this year.

The sign over the store to the right, NE MISSISSIPPI GAS CO.

This is only one of the little "Downtown" areas in Monroe county that I plan to paint in this series.

"CONASTOGA WAGON"

This is really the post for June ,6 2010. It is the No. 176 painting of my 365/2010 series.

This old broken down Conestoga wagon from around the turn of the century was sitting out in the field behind the motel I was staying at in Altus, Oklahoma. Just couldn't resist it. The original photo of this was published in a coffee table book published by a television station in OKC to raise money for an organization back in the early 90's. It was a book of selected photographs about images of Oklahoma. I had two images accepted for that book.

This, and the car, posted today, are going to be the first in a series of modes of transportation.

3 DAY UPDATE, SORRY!!!!!!!!

This is the 3 day update on my 365/300 painting series, for June 4,5 and 6Th. I'm sorry but no puter available. They are all watercolors.

Another thing that I just can't pass up with out stopping to investigate and take photos of are old cars sitting out in fields. This one was located near Olustee, Oklahoma.

Andrew Wyeth's favorite hobby was raising bee's

These are three of the hives that were near where my family and I had a picnic on The Wyeth's lawn.

After traveling several hundred miles to see Andrew Wyeth, I had told him I was coming to see him on the phone, I was not going to let any No Trespassing signs stop me from getting to his house.

George the caretaker told us that the Wyeth's had left the day before going to their other house in Maine. So after we had out picnic and got a fantastic look at his studio, we headed for Chushing Maine. More to come about that.

I see the third did not make it on this post so I'll post it by itself.

This house may have led to my love of architecture and F.L Wright.

I use to pass by this house on my way to school everyday. I only lived in Calumet City for the junior and senior years of high school. We walked to school a lot and this is one of the houses on the way. I don't know who lived there but maybe Bob, my brother can lend some help there. I always thought the mayor live there. I really don't remember knowing about Wright till after i knew about this place.

"NEAR ALBUQUERQUE"

This is the No. 163 painting in my 365/2010 series.

This little jewel is one of those 30+ missions Nina and I found while roaming New Mexico a few years back. It was near sunset and the glow of the sky made the white mission look golden.

"FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT N ALABAMA"

This is the No. 161 painting in my 365/2010 painting series.

I am really a frustrated architect and if it hadn't been for my poor math education in middle and high school I would have been on.

F.L Wright has always been one of my favorite American Artist and I thought I knew every thing about him. All my papers in High school and first year of college were done on Wright.

I did not know till a few year ago that he had anything in Alabama. I did a workshop for the Florence Alabama art community and one of the girls in the work shop said, in passing, that she lived near the Frank Lloyd wright house and I questioned that. She was right, about Wright!!!

The house is the Rosenbaum House built in 1939 and it is the only thing of Wright's in Alabama.

The girl later sent me a video of a documentary airs on the Alabama Public Network. It is really good.
