SKETCHES FROM MY WYETH SKETCHBOOK ca. 1981

I found this sketchbook the other day as I was cleaning up things at school. I couldn't put it down, it brought back so many memories. These are all on 8X10 1/2 inch sketchbook.

All the sketches were done in 1981 on a trip to Andrew Wyeth's worlds. These were done at Ring Farm in Chadd's Ford, Pa. about 4 miles from Wyeth's house. The home of Karl and Anna Kuerner life long friends and subject matter for Wyeth.

The bottom drawing is of a gate leaning against the top of the well house near the entrance to Ring Farm.

This is from a series on Native American subjects I did a few years back. All were done by the influence Picasso has on me n color and shapes. I actually got to see a stickball game. I was doing a residency in Seminole County and was invited to a game by ne of my students parents.

The players were not dressed like this but I imagined what it must have been like in the 18th, 19th centeries.

Romans 14:1-12

 If you do not know what God actually said do not purpose to tell what he said.

Be a servant, not a Lord.

in other words if God didn't talk about it, things such as what to eat, observing certain days, saying amen, when to lift hands, wear hats, and MANY MORE things, then DON'T bully others by saying you know.

It a matter of choice, so LET FREEDOM RING!!!

"SOUTHWEST MISSIONS"

Here are two more of the little sunset paintings I did during snowed in day back in February.

The top one is of "THREE CROSSES MISSION" in New Mexico and the bottom one is of 'SAN XAVIER" IN Arizona. I may think of more to post. I really didn't keep up with the post back then. I painted 85 of these in about 6 days.

This painting celebrating my niece's birthday if the first one in the series I'm doing for all the family member's of my brothers and sister's children and their family members. In this picture you will find CANDACE LANGDOC AUTEN. 3-24-76, Ryan, 9-19-09, IND., a horse head, a spatula, a cruise ship, Mexico, Purdue U. Ross University, Saint Kitts, Love You, Carlene, Cathy, Carrie and dumpster diving.

I hope you enjoy looking for these things that have connected us over the years. It is also done in her favorite colors, PURPLE and shade of purple.

This little church is located in West Searcy Arkansas. It is on the National Registry and is well over 100 years old. It is still in use.

This little white church is located in Southwestern Colorado. Somewhere between South Fork and Pagosa Springs. Besides being White it was very Patriotic that day. It did have a blue roof on the tower and a reddish roof on the rest of the church. very picturesque.

Thius is a demo  painting done for one of my classes last Friday. This house is still in the curve on the way outside of town on the west wide of Aberdeen. This is the way it looked back in 1880's when it was built. It was called the Castle at that time.

This was painted in about 40 mins. from start to finish.

This beautiful little church is located in the southern most part of Alabama.

TWO MORE OKLAHOMA SUNSETS

The top picture is a painting of the Oklahoma City skyline. and the bottom picture is a painting of a sunset behind Mercy Hospital and the whole Mercy health complex in North Oklahoma City.

WHITE CHURCH

"ANOTHER WHITE CHURCH"

This is another in my WHITE CHURCH series. This Church is located somewhere between Columbus and Macon, Mississippi on Hwy. 45-S. If you know the name of it I would appreciate any help. It sits  way back off the road and this particular day it was really shining in the early afternoon sun.

Conn. The second paintings is of a sailing regatta also in the same area.
